Description

Remote Michigan Recreational, Fish, Hunt, LOG Cabin ON 40 Acres For Sale. Camp TWO Bears is located in Hematite Township, in North-Central Iron County. Iron County is in the southwestern part of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The County has more than 1,000 lakes and ponds, and more than 900 miles of rivers and streams for lots of boating, fishing, swimming. Three miles to the north-west of the property being offered for sale is Perch Lake, the largest in the County. This lake is 994 acres in size and 14 feet deep at its deepest point. Anglers catch a variety of fish including Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Rock Bass, 20 to 22 inch Walleye and Yellow Perch. There is a State owned public access site on the south shore. Cable Lake is a mile-and-a-half away to the North-East. This lake is 333 acres in size and 30 feet deep at its deepest point. Known for trophy Northern Pike, and lots of Walleyes, as well as Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Rock Bass, Smallmouth Bass, and Yellow Perch. A State owned access site is on the eastern shore. Porter Lake is a mile-and-a-half away to the East. Another trophy Northern Pike lake, it features fish that can run from 30 to 45 inches. This lake is 270 acres in size and is 33 feet deep at its deepest point. You can catch a variety of fish including Largemouth Bass and Walleye. Access to Porter is via a channel from Cable Lake. If you would like to try some river fishing or canoeing, the Net River is three miles to the south-west. This river flows into the Paint River. The Paint is one of the best Trout Waters in the U.P. A quarter mile to the west is access to thousands of acres of Ottawa National Forest Land, and within a few miles are Copper Country State Forest Lands, and thousands more acres of Corporate CFA Land. There are opportunities to hunt, fish, and trap the wildlife in these forests. Because nearly half of Iron County's forests are full of aspen, it is dubbed one of the best Ruffed Grouse hunting areas by the Ruffed Grouse Society. Woodcocks, Partridge, Geese and a variety of duck species are also found in these habitats. Turkey experts said that wild turkeys could never survive a winter in the north. In spite of the experts, the Wildlife Unlimited launched a project in 1994 to introduce the wild turkey into Iron County. The project was successful and there are thousands of birds for spring and fall hunt seasons. Hunters have opportunities to harvest trophy White-tailed Deer and healthy Black Bear that roam the hardwood and conifer forests. The County has an extensive network of trails for biking, hiking, and ATV riding in the summer and for Snowmobiling in the winter. There is access to the Net River Road Trail and the Porter Lake-Sidnaw Multi-Use Trails nearby. The cabin Exterior features energy efficient Square Milled Logs, with a Steel Roof. A 32-Foot long open covered porch flanking the Entrance of the cabin, provides lots of outdoor seating. The Open-Concept main floor plan includes a Living-Dining Area - the focal points of this room are the vaulted ceiling, exposed rafters, and a centrally located free-standing wood stove with a natural stone hearth that reaches the peak of the ceiling. Off the Living-Dining area is a functional Kitchen, with an Lp gas Refrigerator and a large commercial style Cook Stove. A Bedroom also shares the first floor. An open stairway leads to an upper level Loft Bedroom which has views to the living area below. A 3,500 watt Generator housed in a separate building supplies power to the home. Both electric and Lp gas fixtures light the cabin. A wall-hung Lp gas heater provides additional warmth. Ceiling fans provide good air circulation. The Drilled Well on the property has not been used by the Sellers in many years. Bathroom facilities are provide by an Outhouse. A very old log Hunter-Trapper Cabin on the property can be salvaged for additional Guests or Storage. Schedule your personal tour today.  MLS# 1118485
