Term of Lease is from August 15th until December 15th, but there is some flexibility in the terms.
The moment you enter, you know you are in a special, beautiful space. You feel you are in another time—but not in a house that was built in another time, because there is so much space and light and such a blend of the old with all these modern touches that make it a comfortable pleasure to be here.
The 2,800 square foot house was built in 1751 by Uziel Cook, who then fought in the American Revolution. The house has been completely restored, remodeled and expanded, to include two full baths and various systems for heating and cooling, electric and water. So you can comfortably enjoy the beauty of the antique you are living in. Great care was taken to preserve the original wide-plank wood and plaster walls, original flooring, cabinetry and fireplace mantels.
The house is at the corner of a designated scenic highway, Route 146, also known as Leetes Island Road, and Quarry Road, which marks the boundary of the village of Stony Creek within the town of Branford, Connecticut. You can walk out the door in three directions for woodland walks. (The fall leaves in New England are spectacular.) We are just three minutes to I-95, which makes for a quick drive to New Haven, to its schools, hospitals, and world-class (free) museums, theater, restaurants, art festivals, and more.
